2027 Grammy Nominations: Date, Time, How to Watch and the Album of the Year Contenders

The 2027 Grammy nominations will be announced on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, starting at 4:45 a.m. PT / 7:45 a.m. ET, with a free livestream on Grammy.com and the official Grammys YouTube channel. The 69th Grammy Awards ceremony itself follows on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027, and for the first time it will air on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu. Below is everything you need for nominations morning: the time in your zone, what’s actually eligible this year, and which albums critics expect to hear called in the big categories.

When are the 2027 Grammy nominations announced?

According to the Recording Academy’s official viewing guide, nominations for the 69th Grammy Awards will be revealed on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, beginning at 4:45 a.m. Pacific / 7:45 a.m. Eastern. A group of past Grammy winners and nominees will help read out the nominees, and the Academy says the participating artists will be named closer to the date.

The announcement covers nominees in all of the Grammy categories, and the full list goes up on Grammy.com right after the livestream. That matters because only a handful of categories get read out live, so if you’re waiting on a niche genre field, the website list is where you’ll find it.

What time is that where you are?

The U.S. will be back on standard time by Nov. 16, so the 7:45 a.m. ET start converts like this:

  • Los Angeles: 4:45 a.m. PT
  • New York: 7:45 a.m. ET
  • London: 12:45 p.m. GMT
  • Manila, Singapore and Beijing: 8:45 p.m. the same day
  • Sydney: 11:45 p.m. AEDT

How to watch the nominations livestream

You don’t need a cable login or a subscription for nominations morning. The livestream runs on Grammy.com and the Grammys’ YouTube channel. As Music Times points out, a nominations wrap-up show follows the announcement, and the new ABC, Disney+ and Hulu deal applies to the February ceremony, not to the nominations stream. So don’t go looking for the nominee reveal on Hulu.

When are the 2027 Grammys, and where can you watch them?

The Recording Academy confirmed in May that the 2027 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027, live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The show will be simulcast on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu, a deal announced at Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York.

That’s a real shift for longtime viewers who are used to tuning in on CBS. Music Times notes the February broadcast marks the Grammys’ first return to ABC since 1972, and having Disney+ and Hulu in the mix means more people can stream the show live without a traditional TV package.

What music is eligible for the 2027 Grammys?

This is the part that trips people up every year. The 2027 Grammys don’t cover “music released in 2026.” The official eligibility window runs from Aug. 31, 2025, to Aug. 28, 2026. Anything released after late August 2026 will have to wait for the 2028 show.

Being released in that window isn’t enough on its own, either. Recordings have to be entered for consideration and must be commercially available through general distribution or a recognized streaming service, according to the Grammy FAQ. For album categories, the Academy’s rules require at least five distinct tracks and 15 minutes of playing time, or a total playing time of at least 30 minutes with no minimum track count.

Key dates for the 2027 Grammy season

  • Aug. 31, 2025 to Aug. 28, 2026: eligibility period
  • Oct. 12 to Oct. 22, 2026: first-round voting (already done)
  • Nov. 16, 2026: nominations announced
  • Dec. 10, 2026 to Jan. 7, 2027: final-round voting
  • Feb. 7, 2027: 69th Grammy Awards ceremony

First-round voting is what decides the nominees, and it closed on Oct. 22. In other words, the list already exists. The rest of us are just guessing until Nov. 16.

Who could be nominated for Album of the Year?

No nominations are official yet, so treat everything in this section as informed prediction, not news. That said, the critics’ shortlists have a lot in common.

Rolling Stone’s Album of the Year predictions name eight likely nominees:

  • Phoebe Bridgers, Lost Weekend
  • Olivia Dean, The Art of Loving
  • Noah Kahan, The Great Divide
  • Ella Langley, Dandelion
  • Bruno Mars, The Romantic
  • Olivia Rodrigo, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love
  • Rosalía, Lux
  • Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl

The awards site Total Music Awards overlaps heavily with that list but swaps in Raye’s This Music May Contain Hope and Don Toliver’s Octane, with Bridgers and Madonna’s Confessions II just missing its cut.

Is this finally Olivia Rodrigo’s year?

Rolling Stone picks Rodrigo to win. Her first two albums, Sour and Guts, were both nominated for Album of the Year and lost, though she won Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album in 2022. Spotify’s head of North America Editorial, John Stein, told the magazine, “She has this engagement where people are just listening front to back on repeat,” and added that “she tours hard, she’s an incredible songwriter.”

The other Olivia, and the Rosalía wild card

Olivia Dean is the name most likely to make it a two-horse race. She won Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys, and The Art of Loving, released in September 2025, has kept producing hits. Stein told Rolling Stone, “It seems like there’s always a new song emerging from this album,” and warned that there “may be some vote splitting” between the two Olivias.

Then there’s Rosalía’s Lux, which Total Music Awards called “the best album of the past year, hands-down,” noting she sang in 13 languages on it. Stein described it as “completely in its own space,” and said a win “could be maybe a surprise for some.”

What about Taylor Swift?

The Life of a Showgirl lands on both prediction lists. Swift already holds a record four Album of the Year wins, but Total Music Awards points to mixed reviews and suggests “Taylor fatigue” could even cost her a nomination. Nov. 16 will tell us whether voters agree.

How the Grammys picks its nominees

Voting members of the Recording Academy vote in the first round to set the nominees, then vote again in the final round to pick winners. In recent years the Academy has added many new and younger members, including Latin and hip-hop voters, which is part of why prediction writers expect more genre variety at the top. Streams and chart positions help an album get noticed, but they don’t guarantee a nomination; plenty of huge hits have been shut out before.
